Thiago Motta finalises move to join Atletico Madrid.


Motta has been top on the list of potential transfers since the season ended, and has been more on the news for his famed appeal to be issued a free agent status than for anything else. Motta, who is love with the English premiership, has settled for another Spanish side, Atletico Madrid. Thiago will remain in Spain and possibly play against FC Barcelona, like former teammate, Javier Saviola may be doing for Real Madrid when the Los Merengues face the Catalan giants in the La Liga. Motta had a 5 million Euro tag placed on him by Barca, but the ex-Barca B player who has played for only Barcelona all through his career was let go for less, within the vicinity of 3 million Euros. Thiago will complete a medical in Madrid before signing for Atletico. Ezquerro is now the only fit player in Barcelona who has not been transfered yet, as Eidur Gudjohnsen is injured. The Icelandic star was preparing ahead of a potntial move back to England before injury struck.
