Captain Puyol prepares to stage a come-back to active football.
Training at La Masia was given a big boost with the appearance of injured FC Barcelona captain, Carles Puyol. The strong defender was seen jogging and doing light work-outs under supervision by his personal trainer. This is part of the Barca star's recovery programme. Carles Puyol damaged his left knee ligament in a friendly in South Africa on June 20th and was later operated upon. Since then, the Spanish international has been out of action, and was such a great sight to behold on Sunday as he keenly watched FC Barcelona's game against Athletic Bilbao in Camp Nou. The doctor who performed the operation on the Barca captain, Dr. Ramon Cugat, spoke about Puyol during a press conference on Samuel Eto'o and his injured thigh, saying:

Puyol is doing a good job in his efforts to come back into full fitness. He's coming along fine.
Puyol is expected to resume playing football this month of September, while Eto'o will be back in November.
