Barca's Argentine star, Gabriel Milito wishes for a speedy solution to the misunderstanding between clubs and countries over international players.
Argentine defender Gabriel Milito has given his point of view on the raging crisis about international players and their programmes with their clubs as against those of their countries. This comes at the heels of a recent incident involving Barcelona's Thierry Henry in which his country France refused to release the striker to his club, FC Barcelona even though Henry was not going to feature in France's match against Scotland. The issue of who actually owns the player and for what length of time should a player be held by the club has surfaced, along with who bears medical bills when a player gets injured in international duty. When asked about his views and also his impressions of comments along that line made by Barca president, Joan Laporta, Milito said:

Players love to play for both club and country. It is an uncomfortable situation for us if the two parties are in disagreement. The clubs and the Federations should find a solution for the problem. It is a difficult issue, most of all for the players. I didn’t know what the president said, because I was in Australia. We the players limit ourselves to playing, and for me, each time I am selected to play for Argentina it gives me great pride, and I always want to be there, no matter if it is a friendly match, or official. On the other hand, we also love to play our respective clubs. A good understanding must be formed between the two.
Milito featured for Argentina in the 1-0 win over Australia. Gaby has returned to Camp Nou and is preparing for Sunday's La Liga clash involving FC Barcelona and Osasuna.
