A highly defensive approach to the game cost Perrin dearly, but the French coach rather blames his attackers and Barca's Lionel Messi for Lyon's defeat.
Looking disappointed after failing to provide an answer to three goals at Camp Nou, French Lyon's coach, Alain Perrin shifted the blame from his ill-advised defensive tactics to his attackers, who Perrin said were not in their usually brilliant form. Perrin had hoped for something to shout about in form of loud cheers of happiness at goals from the likes of Benzema and Juninho, but the coach did have something to shout about, though not on a positive note for goals scored by his team, but on a negative level for the ones conceded. Glad that the match had ended, Perrin spoke in his post-match press conference admitting that:

It's a disappointing result but I have to say we defended well while one of our great strengths, our attack, didn't function. Messi was great down the left wing but then I think we played well in that area too. We knew Barcelona were dangerous everywhere and wanted to keep all their players under control. We started the game with an own goal and had trouble moving the ball forward from then on.
As FC Barcelona look to carry on with the fairy-tale by recording a second straight victory against Sevilla in the La Liga clash on Saturday, Perrin hopes to do the same with his Lyon side in the French Ligue 1, and also looks unto Scottish team Galsgow Rangers for solace in the next Champions League match day:

We shall return and prepare harder. We have to get back to winning and ensure nothing like this happens in the League back home. Our home games are important and we have to work hard before the next Champions League match against Rangers.
