Just a simple question really. Why are Barcelona obsessed with The Arsenal's players. They didn't give much heed to Fabregas or Merida when they were younger. It is only now they are making a name for themselves that Barca are screaming. Fining a young boy that amount of money is ridiculous; he is really going to want to go back to Barca now isn't he? You have shot yourselves in the foot because I know Fran will be as big as Cesc.
You also poached Thierry Henry and tried for 2 seasons before you finally got him. Note, you only got him because he was surplus to requirements, Thierry would come back in a flash.

Please show some class Barca and stop this childish pursuit of our best players. We all know the club likes to hide behind its mouthpiece, Marca, and pretend it has no idea what's going on. You used to be admired by fans like myself all over the world. Now you are becoming another Real Madrid, stuck so far up your rear with self-importance you no longer recognize and value the integrity of your board. Punishing a young boy because he decided to go elsewhere is petty and small minded. You are revealing to the world what a small minded club you are.

Fran Merida plans to appeal a ruling by the Spanish courts which has mandated the Arsenal player to pay 3.5 Million Euros to FC Barcelona for what amounted to breach of contract in certain terms, after the teenager escaped to London to pitch tent with Arsenal FC. Merida had earlier committed to Barca, but then signed for Arsenal afterwards. The Spanish star has since played in his official debut for the Gunners. Joseba Diaz's name has come up once again in the controversial deal. Diaz is the current agent of Cesc Fabregas, another player poached in his infant years at FC Barcelona. A formal response from Fran Merida is being awaited. Meanwhile Arsenal has offered to pay Barca the 3.5 Million Euros for Merida's mischief and adventurous efforts.
