Barcelona's goal merchant lives it up for France.

After scoring against The Faroe Islands in the EURO 2008 qualifiers, FC Barcelona star Thierry Henry has equalled the 41 goal record for France in international matches, equalling Michel Platini's goalscoring record. Michel Platini, who is the current UEFA president, and former France legend, scored 41 goals in 72 appearances before his retirement from international football. Speaking after the match, Henry said:

I'm humbled and honoured to have achieved this mark. It's extraordinary to join a player like Platini because his name carried the dreams of all of France.

Henry is set to become France's all-time leading goal scorer soon, perhaps even as early as Wednesday as Les Bleus welcome Lithuania to Paris. France defeated Faroe 6-0 with Henry, Anelka, Benzema, Rothen and Ben Afra all getting on the score sheet.
