FC Barcelona's striker, Samuel Eto'o has some words of advice for Ronaldinho's critics.

The Cameroonian forward Eto'o looked objectively at the current spate of things regarding his teammate Ronaldinho, and concluded that Ronnie was receiving unnecessary criticism from the public and the press. Eto'o believes that even though Ronaldinho indeed has a problem with his form, such a problem is only minimal and not as serious as it is being highlighted by the press. Eto'o explains that everyone is judging Ronaldinho with a mentality of wanting to see the Brazilian superstar conformed to one playing pattern all his life, without giving him room for any change in pattern, as his change in playing pattern has largely been misinterpreted as a negative change in form. Eto'o says:

Ronaldinho is still the same player as he used to be as far back as four years ago. Naturally, as a player matures, his game changes. Ronaldinho's game will keep changing. This doesn't mean loss in form, but a positive change to fit into new roles he is meant to play at the club. Sometimes, when you do not match the expectations of people, they criticize you. But it is not over one or two games that they should criticise. A lot happens over four years in football, Ronnie now is a different player but not different in the sense that he cannot perform. He's now assuming newer and equally important roles at Barca.

The injured FC Barcelona star striker suggests that displays like dribbling past several players and blitz of tricks on the ball is now being handled by the likes of Lionel Messi in the Blaugrana, while Ronnie has more to focus on. Samuel Eto'o also has some words of advice for Barca sensation, Lionel Messi:

I hope what he is doing now continues for his entire career. There are few players at his level today.
