Lionel Messi's injury has already begun to take effect.


Barça's technical director Txiki Begiristain has lamented the injury and potential absence of magic man Lionel Messi, who will be out for at least three weeks and will, most unfortunately, miss the Christmas cracker against Real Madrid next week. A sad Txiki lamented that:

It is the worst thing that could have happened. He is a player that gives us balance and is in great form. We hope to see him recover very soon. As well as wanting to see him make a quick come back, we want him to come back fully fit.


Messi scored a hattrick against Real Madrid in last season's el clasico, and was hoping to do the same again this season.
