Thiago Motta courts English clubs for pressure on contract adjustment by FC Barcelona.

FC Barcelona player, Thiago Motta has asked Barca to phase out the remaining one year left in his contract at Camp Nou, a move that will make the Italian -Brazilian a free agent and make easier, his dream move to the English Premiership. Thiago is one of the players who will be leaving FC Barcelona this summer, and Motta wants to play in England. With a transfer fee pegged on him, the move to the Premiership may be delayed or even denied. Thiago says:

If I am a free agent it will be easy to find a new club, as fees and other formalities can be avoided. England holds an attraction to me. The Premier League is sensational and has a style that's perfectly suited to the way I play. I am not new to English teams either. I've played many games against English opposition and believe I can enjoy football in England. The most vital thing now is to sort out my Barca situation.

Transfer Rumours: Manchester United target Gudjohnsen

sven
22nd March 2007

UK based tabloid the "SUN" reported that Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson has got FC Barcelona forward Eidur Gudjohnsen on his wish list to replace former Barca and Celtic striker Henrik Larsson, who has left the Red Devils for Helsingborg this month. Sun´s online service claimed that Man U veteran coach Ferguson would be willing to pay the € 12 mill. transfer fee, the same amount Barca paid for the Icelandic International to land him from Chelsea.
Gudjohnsen already replaced former Celtic legend Larsson at Barca last summer but could again step in the Swede´s footsteps at Manchester United.

Gudjohnsen knows the Premiership very well having started his career at Bolton Wanderers and then joined Chelsea. He played at Stamford Bridge for 5 years.

FC Barcelona Blog: If an offer of € 12 mill. would be tabled on Laporta´s desk, I can not imagine that Barca would reject this offer.

Manchester United´s superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has publicly snubbed suggestions of a move to Real Madrid. The two Spanish giants FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are both linked with a move for the Portuguese international, despite Barca´s Txiki Begiristain denying any approach. Still his latest comments are pulling him closer to FC Barcelona, should he decide to leave Old Trafford. Ronaldo is currently in new contract negotiations with Manchester United but refused to take any decision before the summer. The 22-year old Ronaldo revealed:

I'm not a Galactico. I'm only thinking about United and I want to stay here for more than two more years. I consider myself a United footballer who is playing well and trying to help the team. If things keep going well, I want to stay here. I want to leave my mark on this era, win titles and be a figure in the history of this club.
