2nd jersey Orange

The new FC Barcelona kit for the 2006-07 season was officially presented to the public presented during the World Cup in Frankfurt, Germany. FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta and vice presidents Marc Ingla and Albert Perrín attended the official presentation of the Barcelona kit for next season. Nike, the US-company that supplies Barca with the sportswear and one of Barca´s main sponsors were in charge of revealing the new kit that the Barcelona teams will be wearing in the 2006-07 season.

FC Barcelona Blog already revealed weeks ago, the new shirt no longer has seven red and blue stripes but just two. The new jersey has been created in similar style to the shirt worn in honour of the club's centenary celebrations in the season 1998-99. Also the shorts are back to blue again and will substitute the so often discussed red shorts.

The second kit is also different. Instead of "pistachio" green, the kit will now be in bright orange. The kit is similar to the Barca kit worn when Barça won their first European Cup at Wembley in 1992.

Another change is the slogan "més que un club" (more than a club) on the back of the shirt, near the neckline, with the Catalan flag now appearing at the end of the sleeves. The slogan should remind everyone (what we all know!) that Barça is more than just a sports club.

Barcelona president Laporta was very happy about the new design produced by Nike and revealed:

"It is an extraordinary sensation, it is amazing how good Nike are at innovating and transmitting emotions. Our objective is to position ourselves as the best club in the world. It is very important for us to be involved in aid programmes with major international organisations, such as the donation of 0.7% of the revenues, as well as the Fundació del Futbol Club Barcelona. I hope the spirit that the club transmits through this new kit will help us go far in the competitions we compete for this season".
