After a successful outing at the just ended FIFA U-17 world cup, Bojan is eager to take on the Barca challenge.
The long-awaited marriage between Bojan Krkic and FC Barcelona is finally on the cards. The young goal machine has been in the news and top-tip for a Barca senior team place since Bojan's golden debut against Al-Ahly of Egypt in which the Barcelona reserves top ever scorer netted a brilliant goal on that memorable night. Now, with the super performance from Krkic's Barcelona reserves teammate, Giovani dos Santos a potential lucrative contract offer and some international media profiling, beyond the skies seem to be the limit for the two youngsters. Bojan Krkic is an admirer of Giovani and speaks on the young Mexican forward:
It was great watching Giovani debut against Atletico Bilbao. I felt very happy for him and also wished I was part of th action too. It's a lifetime experience to make an official debut for a club like Barca. but I was away in Korea and it wasn't possible. Now that I'm back, I will try and prove myself in training. If I can join the squad as soon as possible. I will take things little-by-little and will seize every chance I receive. Maybe we will both reach that level for that reason.
Bojan clarified issues about his initial unwillingnes to join the Spain camp for the U-17 world championship when he was invitied by the Spanish authorities. The young one explained it was due to his over-whelming emotions for FC Barcelona and the desire to continue the pursuit of his life-long dreams:
I was having an excellent time at Camp Nou. Things were going well for me. I felt comfortable and very at home alongside the first team players and I enjoyed that a lot. Naturally, it will be very dificult for a young player to leave under such nice conditions. It had nothing to do with going to play for Spain because appearing the World Championships was thrilling, it was because at that time I was living the dream and it was hard for me to leave. Once the tournament started though I forgot all that and really enjoyed it. Playing out there helped a lot. On the pitch it helped me become better known and as a person it helped me grow and I improved a few things. It was worthwhile experience and playing at the world cup has been beneficial to me.
Bojan speaks of the injury to Barcelona's star striker Samuel Eto'o:
The injury was quite unfortunate and will no doubt have its impact as the absence of such a player like Eto'o will be felt. Although it is true that one space in the attacking line is now left empty, I will continue to remain calm and have confidence in my game. I will continue to give 100 per cent and will be there when I am required. I have not set any targets. For now, I only want to think about playing football and to adapt to the new way of life that I am going to have at Camp Nou playing for my dream club.

Bojan Kric is known to be cool and soft-spoken, but this time around, the 17 year old goal king is loud and upfront about his feelings.
With five good goals and the most important coming in the 116th minute against Ghana in the semi-final, Bojan Krkic sent Spain to the U-17 world cup final on Wednesday after bringing same team to the championship by emerging top scorer in the European qualifiers. Spain lifted the European edition of the U-17 trophy, but that was with Bojan playing in the final match. Now the goal-machine will be missing in Sunday's FIFA U-17 world cup final against two-time champions Nigeria after receiving a red card in the semi-final match. This unjustified red card is the first red card Bojan has ever received in his young career, and the Barca star is furious about it, expressing unhappiness with the referee.

Bojan Krkic may be influenced by his father to leave FC Barcelona if certain demands are not met soon.
Bojan Krkic snr, the father of soccer sensation, Bojan Krkic, is very furious about two things. One is the red card awarded to his son in the U-17 World cup semi-final match between Spain and Ghana on Wednesday, 5th September in Korea and the second is about the slow pace being given to his son's full promotion to the Barcelona senior team. The young FC Barcelona forward received a paternal campaign for greater participation in the Barca senior team , saying that the Catalan club officials should give his young son more pubilcity and opportunity, just like it was doing to Bojan's fellow Barca B teammate, Giovani Dos Santos:
I think Barca can do a lot better with the way Bojan is being handled. He needs more playing time in the club and also more opportunty, just like they are doing to Giovani Dos Santos has ben fully promoted. Bojan needs to be actively involved in games. Any good player is often tempted to go somewhere else when he doesn't receive enough action and recognition from his present club. However, we are not considering any move in December when the winter transfer begins.
Bojan Krkic is expected to resume duty with the FC Barcelona senior team after the U-17 world cup ends on 9th September, 2007.
Bojan's father spoke even more angrily over the red card given to his son after the referee in the U-17 world cup match claimed Bojan committed a second bookable offence:
This expulsion was unjust! Not only was their no meaningful explanation to the reason for issuing the card, but the match was practically over and the referee still went on to award Bojan a red card. Bojan had behaved well all through the match only to be awarded a red card in the end. It's just not fair. This is the first time he's receiving a red card in his young career and I know he's strong and won't let it affect him negatively in any way. The referee was not right to have done what he did.
Bojan Krkic will miss the final against Nigeria on Sunday, but still remains in contention for the Golden Ball Award as the Best Player of the Championship, despite the red card. Bojan is also presently the second highest goal scorer in the world cup with five goals behind Nigeria's Macauley Christiantus, who has notched seven goals to emerge top scorer.

Spain hold Argentina 1-1 to top Group C of U-17 World Cup.
Spain, having qualified for the world cup knockout stage even before the match with Argentina, paraded most of their reserve players, choosing to spice up the reserve team with some first team players while leaving the main stars like Bojan Krkic and Fran Merida to rest ahead of the more challenging knockout stage. Argentina, who were very desperate to qualify by securing any result other than a loss, came out very aggressively, and attacked with all fevor. Pablo Rolon, Eduardo Salvio and Carlos Benitez all cordibated very well, with Benitez scoring in the 32nd minute by a swift spin and good shot into the Spanish net from the edge of the area. Spain responded with good display and the best effort came from Iago whose shot thudered off the Argentine post during stoppage time in the first half.
The second half saw Daniel Aquino reviving the Spanish attack, and twice came close to scoring early. Aquino finally scored in the 68th minute after finishing off a brilliant right wing cross from Isma Lopez. Argentina didn't want to take qualification chances with a draw, and made some great substitutions like the coming in of Santiago Fernandez, whose late minute strike rocked the Spanish cross bar, but wasn't good enough for goal. The match ended 1-1 with both teams eventually qualifying. Spain as leaders with 7 points and Argentina as runners up with 5 points ahead of heardfighting Syria with 4 points.
