Barça draw last night against Chivas Guadelajara 1-1 in their second match of the Mexica & USA pre-season tour in Los Angeles. In form Icelandic striker Eidur Gudjohnsen, the new signing from Chelsea FC, put Barcelona ahaead in the 74th, but the Mexicans levelled through Diego Martínez just 5 minutes before the end of the match.
FC Barcelona dominated and controlled the entire match. Barca produced the clearer goal scoring opportunities but used only one of several just 15 minutes from time when Gudjohnsen was set clear by Ronaldinho in front of the goal but only hit the post. Gudjohnsen himself then converted the rebound. A defence error finally led to Chivas equaliser, when Martínez headed home, while he was on his own at the second post.

While the first half did not produce much exciting moments, the second half was much more entertaining.

The majority of the fans have been of hispanic origin and the spectators again enjoyed the individual techique and technical skills of Ronaldinho.

FC Barcelona and Warner Bros Consumer Products (WBCP) have agreed that the American company will have the right to market official FC Barcelona products in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America.


Warner Bros Consumer Products will manufacture, distribute, promote and market official FC Barcelona products all over the American continent.


The agreement will be signed on Friday and is another step forward to market the successful brand "FC Barcalona" on the entire American continent. FC Barcelona experiences an shows increasingly growing interest in football out there and the result of Barca´s current achievements leads to a incresing number of admirers within the hispanic community, especially in countries like Mexico.


As well as Barcelona, Manchester United, Juventus and Paris Saint Germain have also made similar deals with Warner Bros Consumer Products.

Ronaldinho delights 43,000 - Great Free-Kick Goal !

FC Barcelona´s superstar Ronaldinho, just back since a couple of days for pre-season training, scored with a stunning free-kick as Barca defeated Club Tigres 3-0 in Monterrey, Mexico.


The Brazilian 'World Player of the Year', Ronaldinho, came on as a substitute in the second half and in the 70th minute won a free-kick which he curled around the wall, into the far corner of the net touching the post. It was a fine individual effort and a trademark set piece goal.


Barca will leave Mexico for the USA today. They continue their Tour against CD Guadalajara in Los Angeles on August 6, Club América in Houston on August 9 and the New York Red Bulls in New York on August 12.

Barca´s Mexican star Marquez: "Giovani has a lot of talent!"

Giovani dos Santos, Barca´s young sensation is very happy to get the chance to play with Barca´s first team in his home country, Mexico.


Barca´s defender and Giovani´s fellow country man, Rafa Marquez, is full of praise for the youngster. He is very happy for young player Giovani and reveals that it is very important for his country Mexico that players like Givani dos Santos get the chance to play for Barca:

"Giovanni has a lot of talent. Now, everybody is talking about him, but he is very young and it is great that he plays a role in this team. I believe, now he has a great future as a Barca player."




FC Barcelona arrived in Monterrey, in the north of Mexico and will stay until Friday, when they leave for the USA.

The FC Barcelona team has taken off this morning for their preseason Tour 20006 to USA & Mexico. The entire trip will last for 13 days and starts in Monterrey, Mexico today. 's trip to North America begins on Tuesday and will last thirteen days. There are 4 friendly matches: Club Tigres, Monterrey (Mexico), CD Guadalajara, Los Angeles, Club America (Houston), New York Red Bulls (New York). The Barca players will also visit Houston Child Cancer Hospital and the NASA Space Center.


The presentation of the agreement with UNICEF, proposed for August 11 in New York at the UN Building has been postponed and will now depend on the decisions of the newly elected board.
